Amy Cheng's drawings exist in the realm between abstraction and representation. Functioning as imaginative visual speculations on the mysteries of the universe, each drawing forms a unified world marked by internal logic and adherence to recognized natural laws—embracing elements like light, perspective, gravity, and both 2-D and 3-D space.

Her 'Mandala Series' paintings, inspired by a diverse range of influences including Indian and Tibetan mandalas, Byzantine mosaics, Persian textiles, and Western illusionistic painting, showcase Cheng’s intricate craftsmanship. Within these works, she skillfully intertwines voluminous spheres within a layered realm, creating an interplay of shimmering light and vibrant, prismatic hues.
